I'm almost to embarrassed to come out to people around me. I have had family and friends ask me if I am gay ( I am ) and I always tell them that I am straight. Should I wait until I feel like I am ready or should I just answer?
teatimeforcharles askedAnswer however you feel most comfortable. If that means lying until you are personally ready to come out, then that is fine. Go at your own pace. Don’t feel forced to come out before you’re ready, however you may find that if they are already asking, chances are that they already know and would be accepting of it. Typically, I’ve found that the ones who avoid it are the ones that would not be so accepting of the truth.
But again, it’s entirely up to you and your readiness to be out.
